Kelvedon Youth Alpha
Young people between the ages of 11 and 14 meet on Sunday evenings from 7.00 p.m. – 8.15 p.m. in St Mary’s Church Rooms. A joint initiative with the Roman Catholic and United Reformed churches in Kelvedon, Youth Alpha is a lively and popular group which attracts between 15 and 20 young people each week during term time.
Youth Alpha gives its members a chance to learn about what it means to be a Christian in the twenty first century in a way which is relevant and accessible to them.
This well established group enthusiastically investigates contemporary issues which affect its members in their daily lives through lively discussions, games and some more structured activities.
From time to time Youth Alpha members take part in services in the three Kelvedon churches, most recently at the Family Friendly Advent service at St Mary’s. The group have recently spent a week end away on the disused lightship at Tollesbury, Fellowship Afloat. The ship is run by a Christian charity and everyone had enormous fun.
New members are always welcome.
