Vicarage Tea Party

On Saturday, September 6th, a Tea Party was held in the Vicarage garden in order to raise funds for Feering church.

The day dawned bright but with a forecast of possible showers in the afternoon.  The many volunteers gathered early and arranged tables and chairs around the garden.   A new cover for the old well had been installed previously and this served beautifully as a table on which to set out the many cakes and other contributions of food which had been donated for the tea party.  There were also tables for 'Bring and Buy' and for raffle prizes.

By 3pm the sun was still shining and the guests started to arrive.  Trade at the tea-urn was brisk throughout the afternoon and a pleasant and sociable time was had by all.  When the raffle had been drawn the guests began to drift away after a successful and profitable occasion.   The helpers cleared away and all was completed just before the first of the rain began.

Father David and Jenny were thanked for their hospitality and hosting a pleasant event which had raised just over £200 for church funds.  Thanks to all those who contributed to the success of the afternoon.
