On Monday the 5th of May the sun was shining and the Feering May Fair was opened by a display of maypole dancing energetically performed by the children of Feering Primary School.
This was a very welcome return of the Fair as the previous year there had not been this annual celebration and people from many nearby villages turned out to support its revival. Obviously it had been much missed.
There were all the usual stalls and Michael Fitch once again came along as entertainer for the afternoon. The tea tent did a roaring trade all afternoon.
There had been a magnificent and 'alcoholic' response to the street collections for tombola prizes - many thanks to all who gave so generously and enabled a good profit to be made.
