Lent Course
The St Mary's Ministry Partnership Team will be running a Lent Course.  This will follow the MaP in Mark course written by members of the Colchester Area Diocesan Lay Development Group.  The course looks at how Mark shows how lay people have a vital role to play in the church.  The Bishop of Colchester has sent a copy of the course to every benefice in the Colchester area and has recommended that they should do it for their Lent Course.

For several years St Mary's has had a Ministry Partnership Team.  The time has now come to refocus on this team and to reassess its role. We also wish to take this opportunity to encourage and enable more members of All Saints' Feering to become actively involved in the life of the church.  Together we can work to make the "United Benefice" a reality.

The Lent course will begin during the week beginning 29th February.
To enable as many people as possible to attend, the course will be held on each week day:-

Monday 8.00 p.m. facilitated by Robert Lines at the Vicarage
Tuesday 8.00 p.m. facilitated by Sarah Openshaw at Bell House, High Street, Kelvedon
Wednesday 8.00 p.m facilitated by Jean Yems in Feering at her home
Thursday day time 1.30 p.m facilitated by Anne Hackworth at her home
Friday day time 10.30 a.m facilitated by José Rowe in Feering at her home.

The sessions will be as follows:

Week beginning 29th February- Study 1 'Too earthly minded to be any heavenly good?'   Nurturing our spiritual lives together and individually.
Week beginning 7th March-         Study 2 'Who's in charge around here?'   Understanding more clearly the nature of Christian leadership.
Week beginning 14th March -      Study 3 'Attitude problems.'   Guarding against wrong attitudes towards each other.
Week beginning 21st March -      Study 4 'Help! I am outside my comfort zone.' Supporting each others' growth and development.
Week beginning 28th March -     Study 5 'Better than the sum of the parts?'  Pulling together, whatever our individual gifts.

There will be a final day, date to be arranged, when everyone who has taken part in the course will meet at Clare Priory for a follow up day led by the Rev 'd Cilla Hawkes, who co-wrote the MaP in Mark course.

There will be fliers in the churches and parish magazines with a tear off slip saying that you would like to attend.   Do contact us if you have any queries.    Sarah Openshaw
